Welcome to the Music subject page. Below you will find a breakdown of each year group, including the curriculum that is taught, learning demonstrations we use to assess knowledge and skills,  what enrichment opportunities the department provides and what can be expected in terms of homework. 

 

Our Vision

We aim to provide all students with a high-quality music education which engages and inspires them to develop a life-long love of music. We set out challenges which increase our students’ self-confidence, creativity and imagination, and provide opportunities for self-expression and a sense of personal achievement. Students are encouraged to broaden their musical horizons through inspiring, challenging and sometimes unfamiliar genres and are given a platform to develop into informed young professionals who are confident with their musical expression.

Homework

Homework is set on a regular basis by the class teacher and can be accessed by logging into your Go4Schools account. 

Enrichment Opportunities

We are proud to be able to offer students the opportunity to participate in musical instrument and vocal lessons. We currently offer lessons in guitar, drum kit, brass, woodwind, violin, piano and singing. If you are interested in signing your child up for extra music lessons, please contact Mrs Davis for more information. The school believes all students should have the opportunity to access additional lessons.
