Prefects and Leadership at LECA

At LECA we not only expect you to progress academically but we also expect you to develop your leadership skills. This is a life skill that will ensure you will be confident when leading others and have the skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for your team. Leadership requires all of the ‘INSPIRED’ attributes so students who apply to be leaders should ensure they embody all of these. The leadership career path at LECA is below and more detail about duties and expectations of leaders are contained within a separate document.

 

Junior Prefect

Application letters are completed in Year 8 and students are selected to be Junior Prefects when they begin Year 9. To qualify to apply, you must meet the following criteria.

  • 95%+ Attendance
  • Behaviour residual of 70+
  • ‘On track’ or ‘Secure’ academic performance in 75% of lessons
  • Evidence that you have contributed positively to the Academy
  • Evidence that you have been proactive in their own personal development both in and out of school.

Senior Prefect

Application letters are completed in Year 9 and students are selected to be Senior Prefects when they begin Year 10. To qualify to apply, you must meet the above criteria and must have also carried out all your duties as a Junior Prefect.

Student Executive

Applications and interviews for roles within the Student Executive, including Head Boy and Head Girl, are completed at the end of Year 10.
